How to make easy money with Pay Per Call

Pay per call also called Cost per call -

This is another form of affiliate marketing

But instead of text links your payment is tracked through phone calls.

The advertiser allocates you a phone number for their business and your job is to promote the business via the telephone number.

For example Quidco is your advertiser and want you to promote their services. You the marketer, make an advert or site and place the number you have been allocated on your advert or site. When a customer calls that number, you are paid a commission dependant on the duration of the call or the deal they sign up for.

As well as hosting a site with affiliate links you can apply to be a pay per call or cost per call publisher to increase your earnings.

We have a few review sites online and whilst we affiliate most of the products we have personally used and recommend through text and picture links, we also use telephone numbers / pay per call.

Using all three helps with conversions of your sales as some customers would rather speak to someone directly than apply online.

Things to look out for -

* Always review or recommended a product or advertiser that you have used or know something about it. There's is nothing worse than recommending something to your customers that does not work or is a bad product all because the affiliate commission is high. Customer retention is everything!

* Double check the telephone number is inputted correctly and try the number yourself (test call). If the number is not answered after you call or the call is dropped move on to another campaign. There is no point writing a winning advert and review site with the wrong telephone number or misspelled link.

* Use call only ads if you are advertising through Google or Bing. This way, only people using mobile phone devices will see your advert, targeting customers that are more likely to hit the call now button.

* You can use offline advertising such as print, TV and radio.

* Some advertisers have strict conditions such as not allowing any publishers to use their keywords or other sale channels to promote their product. Follow their instructions when promoting, otherwise you may be suspended from the campaign at a later date (after you have written all the content and made the advert / review / site.)

* You may be required to live in the USA to promote some advertisers. You can get around this by buying a USA address see below for free 30 day membership.

Pros

  • Easy to set up - the telephone number is the only thing you have to input into your advert to gain commissions.

  • Pay per call is proven to have a better closing and converting rate than standard affiliate link marketing.

  • Customers that choose to call a business are more likely to make a decision than filling out a form as it is more convenient and faster.

  • Get extra commission once a sale is generated through your link. Even if the customer calls back at a later time (usually within a certain time scale e.g 30 days from the first call).

  • High payouts for the right calls.

Cons

  • Problem tracking calls - If you have not signed up to a verified site you could be advertising a company that does not pay you for your work or stops working. Always check your numbers once a month to make sure they are in working order.

  • Conversion - Why would a customer call your number if the advertisement does not hold their attention, and they have the whole internet at their disposal to get information?

  • Commissions may be reversed if the conversions is reversed. If the customer cancels the sale within a certain time period then your commissions might not be paid.

  • Quality rather than quantity - You may be getting the calls but if your advert is not reaching the right customers you may be not receive commissions advertised, because the calls are not matching the advertisers conditions.
